1. Who we are

PayoutCompass (referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our” in this document) operates the website at payoutcompass.com. We publish independent reviews of online casinos for Malaysian players.

2. Information we collect

We collect two broad types of information when you use this site:

Information you give us directly

If you contact us by email or through any form on the site, we’ll receive whatever information you choose to send — typically your name, email address, and the contents of your message. We don’t ask for sensitive personal information, and we’d prefer you didn’t volunteer any.

Information collected automatically

When you visit any page on this site, your browser automatically sends standard technical information that we (and our service providers) log:

• Your IP address (which gives us an approximate location at the country/city level)
• Browser type and version
• Operating system
• Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
• The page you’re viewing and the page you came from (the referrer)
• Time and date of the visit
• How long you stayed on the page

This is standard web traffic data — the same kind every website on the internet receives.

3. How we use it

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

• To run the site: Standard analytics so we know which reviews are read, which pages need improvement, and how the site is performing.
• To improve our reviews: Understanding what readers are looking for helps us prioritize which casinos to review next and which topics to cover in more depth.
• To respond to you: If you contact us, we use your email and message to reply.
• To detect abuse: IP addresses help us identify and block spam, scraping, and abusive behavior.
• To comply with legal obligations: If a court order, regulatory request, or law requires us to retain or disclose information, we may need to do so.

We don’t use your information to build advertising profiles, and we don’t sell your information to third parties for marketing.

4. Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to make the site work properly and to understand how it’s used. The full breakdown is in our Cookie Policy, but the short version:

• Essential cookies — required for the site to function (e.g. caching, security). These can’t be turned off.
• Analytics cookies — help us understand how readers use the site. These are aggregated and don’t identify individuals.
• Affiliate tracking — when you click a “Visit Casino” link, the casino’s system may set its own tracking to attribute the referral back to us. This is handled entirely by the casino, not by us.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Some features of the site may not work correctly if you do.

5. Affiliate links and third-party casinos

PayoutCompass is funded by affiliate commissions. When you click a “Visit Casino” button on this site and sign up at a casino, the casino’s system records that you came from us, and we may receive a commission. The details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.

Once you leave PayoutCompass and arrive at a casino’s own website, you’re subject to that casino’s privacy policy — not ours. We have no control over how casinos handle data after you sign up, and we’d encourage you to read the privacy policy of any casino before depositing.

6. Service providers we use

We use a small number of third-party services to operate this site. Each of them may process limited information on our behalf:

• Hosting provider — our website is hosted by Cloudways on DigitalOcean infrastructure. Server logs may include IP addresses and standard request data.
• Content delivery network (CDN) — we use Cloudflare for performance and security, which processes traffic data to deliver pages faster and protect against attacks.
• Analytics — we may use privacy-friendly analytics services to understand traffic patterns. These are configured to anonymize IP addresses where possible.
• Email — if you email us, your message is processed through our email provider.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and security practices.

7. Data retention

We keep different types of data for different lengths of time:

• Analytics data — retained in aggregated form for up to 26 months, then automatically deleted.
• Server logs — typically retained for 30 to 90 days before rotation.
• Email correspondence — retained as long as we have an active reason to (e.g. an ongoing conversation), then deleted on a periodic clean-up cycle.

8. International data transfers

Our hosting infrastructure is located in Singapore, and some of our service providers operate globally. By using this site, you understand that your data may be processed outside of Malaysia. We rely on standard industry safeguards — encrypted connections, vetted service providers, and contracts requiring appropriate data handling — to protect your information regardless of where it’s processed.

9. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
• Deletion: Ask us to delete personal data we hold about you, subject to any legal retention obligations.
• Restriction: Ask us to limit how we process your data in specific cases.
• Objection: Object to certain uses of your data.
• Portability: Receive your data in a portable format where applicable.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We’ll respond within a reasonable time frame. In most cases, we’ll need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

10. Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the data we hold — encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the entire site, secure hosting infrastructure, restricted access to internal systems. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — usually because we’ve added a new service, changed how we operate, or to reflect changes in law. When we update it, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be flagged more prominently. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
